I was deeply inspired by the powerful discussions and thought-provoking insights shared at the WOMEN IN DESIGN event, organised by the DDC Salon NRW. Especially Prof. Dr. Gerda Breuer’s exploration of the successes and challenges faced by female designers – a real eye-opener.
Contributions from Pauline Gebauer, Daniela Burger, and Diana Tayo Osobu emphasized the importance of amplifying female perspectives in the design industry. I was honored to discuss female networking and my role in Ladies, Wine & Design Düsseldorf, a cause I deeply care about.
The event left me feeling empowered and even more determined to continue supporting and empowering women in design. Thank you to DDC Deutscher Design Club e.V.!
“I had the privilege to be part of the panel at the Social Stories event by What's Your Story. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, reflect, and share experiences in an inspiring and vibrant space with lovely attendees.
Before the event, I found myself reflecting on the value of simply being confident in your own journey, even when you feel like you have little to contribute. Sometimes, your perspective is exactly what someone else needs to hear.
My key takeaway from the event: “You don’t have to follow every social media trend. Stay authentic and choose what genuinely represents you.”
“Since 2024, I’ve been hosting Ladies, Wine & Design Düsseldorf, a chapter of the global non-profit initiative Ladies, Wine & Design. Founded in 2015 by Jessica Walsh, LW&D was created to address the stark lack of diversity in the creative industry and empower women & non-binary creatives around the world.
In Düsseldorf, these events have fostered a strong sense of community, bringing people together to share, support, and inspire one another. It’s been incredible to see how much we can achieve by building each other up and creating opportunities for growth and leadership in the creative field.”
